Free Arkansas

Terms of Use

The ground rules for using this site. Short, readable, and written to be fair rather than to win an argument.

Last updated August 10, 2026

The short version

Read, listen, quote, and share freely. Do not republish whole episodes or articles as your own, do not attack the site, and do not treat what you hear here as legal, financial, or professional advice.

We make this in good faith and we correct our mistakes. We cannot promise it is perfect or always online.

Agreeing to these terms

By using www.freearkansas.com, subscribing to the newsletter, or sending us a message, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy.

What this site is

Free Arkansas Media publishes podcasts, commentary, interviews, and reporting about the people, policy, and future of Arkansas. It is journalism and opinion. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to someone qualified about your own situation.

Nothing here is a political endorsement or an offer of anything, and the views of our hosts, guests, and contributors are their own.

Using our content

Our episodes, show notes, articles, artwork, and the Free Arkansas name and logo belong to Free Arkansas Media or the people we license them from. Here is what you can do without asking:

  • Listen, read, and share links anywhere you like.
  • Quote us with credit to Free Arkansas and a link back to the page or episode.
  • Embed our players or link to our RSS feed.
  • Use it for teaching, research, and commentary.

What needs our written permission first:

  • Republishing an episode, article, or profile in full, whether or not you change the wording.
  • Any commercial use, including reselling clips or packaging our audio into your own product.
  • Bulk scraping, crawling, or copying the site or its data, including for training machine-learning models.
  • Using our name or logo in a way that implies we endorse you.

Ask us at hello@freearkansas.com. We say yes to reasonable requests more often than not.

Rules of the road

Do not:

  • Try to break into, overload, probe, or interfere with the site, the API, or the admin area.
  • Use our forms to send spam, malware, threats, or anything unlawful.
  • Impersonate someone else, including a member of our team or a guest.
  • Strip out credit, attribution, or copyright notices from anything you share.

We can block access to anyone who does these things, without notice.

What you send us

When you send a story tip, guest pitch, correction, or any other message, you keep ownership of it, but you give us permission to read it, act on it, and use it in our reporting and on air unless you tell us otherwise in the message.

Please do not send confidential, privileged, or sensitive personal information through the contact form. It is email, not a secure channel, and we cannot promise confidentiality unless we have agreed to it with you directly and in advance.

Only send us material you have the right to send. Do not send anything covered by an NDA you signed.

Guests, links, and other platforms

Guests speak for themselves. Appearing on a show is not an endorsement of that person by us, or of us by them.

We link out to other sites, and our shows are distributed on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and elsewhere. We do not control any of those places, we are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your data, and their own terms and privacy policies apply once you get there.

Corrections and copyright complaints

If we got a fact wrong, tell us at hello@freearkansas.com or through the contact page and we will fix it.

If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, email the same address with: what the work is, where it appears on our site, how to reach you, and a statement that you own the rights or are authorized to act for the owner. We remove infringing material once we have verified the claim.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. We put real work into being accurate and available, but we cannot promise the site is free of errors, that every detail is current, or that it will never go down. Automated summaries and profile pages in particular are assembled from episodes and public sources and can contain mistakes. Use your own judgment, and tell us when we get it wrong.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Free Arkansas Media and its team are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Arkansas.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
